MPC Intranet is a very important tool for the company across the world, for it contains unique information and training assets that employees user on a daily basis. The challenge was to create a coherent look and feel that not only simplified access to all information but also integrated the different internal platforms and work tools.
One of the global leaders in VFX for over 25 years and counting, with industry-leading facilities in 10 cities across all continents, MPC is renowned for adding visual wonder and creative expertise to the advertising, film and entertainment industries
The first step was to understand the complexity of the whole intranet for MPC, the different user needs and different platforms used (forums, tutorials, production tools, etc.). Then a new architecture was defined and a new user experience for most of the current features as well as new features suggested during this process.
Redesigned from ground up to be "employee centred", the new concept makes relevant company information as opposed to a more corporate approach: trailers, new tutorials, employee spotlight, personal calendar, etc.
The article template was also revisited and rearranged: a new "conversational" forum system was introduced to simplify followup as well as collaboration within projects.
The top navigation bar is location aware, changing many content elements (weather, contacts, employee spotlight, etc).
New search feature with instant results, properly divided by categories.
The new employee profile now allows to quickly access relevant information (address, picture, HR documents, etc).
A personalised calendar with relevant events and a new "employee spotlight" to promote co-worker engagement.
