What should the MVP version of our EV service app look like?

The brief

The ask was to think about the features for a new Nissan service app, targeted at electric car owners, to support them in driving, managing, and servicing their vehicles - with a focus on things like battery monitoring, automation, and overall maintenance.

The new app is to be implemented by the Nissan internal development teams, and should not require long execution timeframe - focus on feasibility.

The team pushed for a new and app-centred pattern library, bringing micro animations and and finger-friendly components, with bigger typography and polished graphics (images, icons and new elements to represent common features like the battery, data stats, smart skills, and more).

The result was a high fidelity prototype showcasing the updated UI, and new animated flows that turn regular service tasks into a better experience.

The designs, prototype and a comprehensive toolkit were handed over to Nissan internal team to be used internally for development.
